What we do

Practical AI services built for tourism operators

How we work

How every engagement works

01

Business first, technology second

Every engagement starts with your operation - where you're losing time, where guests are slipping through the cracks, what your team actually does every day. The technology comes after. AI is only useful if it solves a real problem in your specific business.

02

You work directly with me

When you hire Avalta, you work with Steve - not a junior associate, not an offshore team, not someone who read about your file before the call. 20+ years of IT operations experience, applied directly to your situation, every time.

03

No recommendation without a reason

If I suggest a tool, you'll know exactly what it does, what it costs to run and why it makes sense for your business specifically. No upselling. No recommending software I get a referral fee on. If AI won't help your operation, I'll tell you that too.

04

I don't leave until it works

Setup, training and follow-up are part of every engagement - not add-ons. Most operators who tried AI tools and gave up were handed something half-configured with no support. That's not how this works.

AI Readiness Audit

Not sure where to start with AI?

In a focused 2-hour session, we go through your operation from the ground up - how you handle bookings, communications, reviews, pricing and staffing. You leave with a written action plan that tells you exactly what to implement, in what order, and what to expect from each change. No generic advice. No upselling. Just a clear picture of what's possible for your specific business.

What you get

  • 2-hour discovery and assessment session
  • Written AI Readiness Report with prioritized recommendations
  • Three quick wins you can act on immediately
  • 30-minute follow-up call included
AI Quick Wins

Spending 10+ hours a week on things a computer could do?

We identify the two or three tasks eating the most of your time and set up tools that handle them automatically. Guest inquiry responses. Review replies. Reservation confirmations. The admin that happens whether you're there or not. Most operators recover 8–12 hours per week from a single Quick Wins engagement.

What you get

  • Identification of your three highest-impact automation opportunities
  • Full setup and configuration of selected tools
  • Team training so everyone knows how it works
  • 30-day check-in to make sure it's running properly

Common questions

Is this going to replace my staff?

No. The goal is to automate the tasks that nobody wants to do anyway - repetitive admin, routine responses, manual updates. AI handles the backend so your team can focus on guests. It's not about replacing people; it's about not needing to hire someone just to answer emails at midnight.

What if I'm not tech-savvy at all?

That's exactly who this is for. You don't need any technical background. Everything I set up, I explain in plain language. By the time we're done, you'll know how to use it and how to adjust it. Most of my clients tell me the hardest part was deciding to start.

How long does implementation take?

Depends on the scope. An AI Readiness Audit is a single session. Quick Wins implementations typically take two to three weeks from start to finish. Operational Integration projects run four to six weeks. Nothing drags on for months.

What does this actually cost?

Pricing is discussed on the discovery call once I understand your operation. What I can tell you is that the tools themselves typically cost between $30 and $150 per month to run. My engagement fee depends on scope - and I'll always tell you the full cost before we start anything.

I've tried AI tools before and they didn't work. Why would this be different?

Most operators who've tried AI tools got handed something half-configured with no support or training. The tool wasn't the problem - the implementation was. What I do is different: I configure the tool for your specific operation, train you on how it works and check in to make sure it's actually saving you time. If it isn't working, we fix it.

Do you work with businesses outside the BC/Alberta corridor?

My focus is on the Vancouver Island to Calgary corridor because I know this market. That said, most of what I do translates to any independent tourism operator in Canada. If you're outside the corridor and want to talk, reach out - the worst I can say is it's not a fit.
